Daylight Saving Time, we hear this twice a year but what does it mean? We thought we’d write a short blog to answer the important questions.
What is Daylight Saving Time?
Well DST means that in the summer months the clocks are set forward 1 hour from standard time and when we reach the fall we put it back 1 hour again.
Why do we use Daylight Saving Time?
Simply to make better use of the natural daylight during the year. Lighter mornings earlier evenings.
When does the Daylight Saving Time end?
As we are getting closer to winter DST ends on 27th October 2019 at 2 am – which basically means we get an extra hour in bed. Hooray
What do you need to do?
Because Daylight Saving Time is ending that means you need to put your clocks back by 1 hour, you may find that most our your mobile devices and appliances may change without you doing anything overnight. But don’t forget that you may still need to change your clocks and timers manually.
We mainly like this time of the year because as mentioned this means we get an extra hour in bed before our bodies have “clocked” on to what’s going on.
Don’t forget that I’d you use any timers in your home or business that doesn’t change automatically remember to manually change them to go with the clocks going back. If you need help with this or advice give the office a call 01323 644570.
Happy Daylight Saving Eastbourne.
